Sooooo....
Yeah...Rumiko Takahashi...when she foregoes humor and plays darker themes straight.

Ohhhh…so the whole “kissing cousins” thing didn’t start with those season of dub Sailor Moon! 🤣
#TheLaughingTarget #AnimeAnthologyNight @digiranma.bsky.social @cctakato.bsky.social

Sooooo….yeeeeaaaah…when Takahashi is allowed to go FULL horror.
#TheLaughingTarget #AnimeAnthologyNight @digiranma.bsky.social

Also folks...tomorrow "around" us watching #UruseiYatsura because it is the #Halloween season I plan to watch on my own several Rumic World "lost" OVAs including The Laughing Target, Mermaid's Forest and Mermaid's Scar!

Also folks last night I watched the Ghostbusters movie, the first 2 episodes of The Real Ghostbusters and Ghost Stories as well as playing some horror themed video games and reading Vampire Hunter D! Getting my horror fix

Yeeeeeah, I feel like continuing my rewatch of Castlevania is a good idea after this tonight!

"Why'd they have to both get killed Jun."
Honey, you're in a Go Nagai show...unless Anno is directing your survival rate is LOW.
(Wow, I can't believe I said that)

@digiranma.bsky.social

"I'm going to use your body to have them whether you like it or not."
Folks consent goes both ways.
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode4 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

Let's be clear...stuff like Cutie Honey, Lupin the 3rd, Dear Brother, Evangelion, Lain, Cowboy Bebop even more modern entries like Attack on Titan and SWORD ART ONLINE pushed the envelope on TV broadcast standards.
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode4 #AnimeAnthologyNight @digiranma.bsky.social

So I kinda want to add to what @digiranma.bsky.social is saying about TV standards in Japan because this isn't an across the board thing. Stuff has time slot and that kinda influenced what aired when.

@digiranma.bsky.social

Same energy, different Go Nagai universes (or are they?)
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode3 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

Well THANK GOODNESS I'm off of work tomorrow because I DEFINITELY am not sleeping tonight!
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode3 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

Yeah, the dark foreboeding scenes in Kazumi's house. The building tension...THIS will not end well.

"Look it's Jun!"
(Sees Jun walk away)
Yeeeeeeah being social is not one of her strong suits.

@digiranma.bsky.social

I SWEAR the animators seem like they worked on a few CLAMP animes.

@digiranma.bsky.social

It's funny how Jun wakes up and is horrified by bloody clothes while in Devilman Crybaby...
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode2 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

Yeah guys...if I'm being a little show tonight I LITERALLY wanted to get the show off my laptop and on my PS4 so I had to verify PlutoTV on my PS4!
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode2 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

"My God, it's size is incredible!"
That's what I tell all my closest friends!
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode1 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

"I'm a Devilman?"
Yeeeeeah folks...I saw Crybaby which was manga accurate and the series ends with the world ending!
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode1 #AnimeAnthologyNight
@digiranma.bsky.social

Okay so funny thing...I didn't know this had a dub as I don't officially have the Blu-ray yet so I switched over the PlutoTV to watch the English version and had to mull through 160 seconds of commericials!
