@danieldarwood.bsky.socialHaving a rest after doing a job I probably shouldn't have done what with my back and that...
@lepantodos.bsky.social#Allotmentlife Some nature in the plot
@lepantodos.bsky.social#Allotmentlife Can dogs grow in glass houses?
@punk-allotmenteer.bsky.socialOne good thing being off sick, I can eat an absolute ton (or2) of garlic 😉
Some benefit I suppose.
Keep looking at the what will be the garlic bed soon, desperate to get it dug, fed, and sown.
@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialIf you don't already, all wildlife-friendly organic gardeners & allotment holders should really get to know the wonderful Lacewing and do all you can to encourage them into your natural green space. They are very helpful & beautiful insects 😊

@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialThe 'footballer' hoverfly (Helophilus pendulus) spent exactly 4 secs in the non-native bright & cheerful Calendula whereas the smaller Hoverfly (Sphaerophoria sp) lingered for more than 2 minutes in the native Bristly Ox-tongue.
Think about it!

@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialThe Conference Pear tree is putting on her best coat of many colours this #Autumn 🧡🍂💛🍂❤️🍂
#allotmentlife
A cheering sight 😊
@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialLeave the plant stems for the spider to attach her silk threads to!
Allow the soil to welcome plants or sow cover crops like clovers! Bare soil in winter is an anathema to all good soil care.
Leave most of the leaves, fruit, flowers & seed heads for other life to enjoy!

@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialLet's not create an Autumn of death by a thousand cuts by unnecessary trimming & cutting; raking & sweeping & generally treating our outdoor green spaces like our own indoor spaces.
Gardens, allotments & other green spaces should be brimming w life in this season of decay.

@punk-allotmenteer.bsky.socialA very productive day on the plot, garlic bed prepared, fed ready to plant the bulbs, (in me head that is)
Spent the day researching them, best feed,times, planting space all sorts which I am going to apply this year and see if I can grow a load of football sized bulbs 🤣

@josieproc.bsky.socialAllotment keeps on giving, even if the harvests are getting smaller. Autumn is definitely here. #allotmentlife
@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialPear tree leaves in Autumn
@freedomtodoubt.bsky.socialBoth the male and female #blackbirds were tucking into the last of the still sweet grapes which will soon be all gone so I'm enjoying these close encounters with the now bold resident poachers .. love them always

@punk-allotmenteer.bsky.socialAnyone else sat patiently awaiting their seed order to arrive home??
Garlic and a few other new to me seeds on their way.
@lepantodos.bsky.social#allotmentlife Today's harvest
