It's #AdoorableThursday, so let's head back to our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, Liberton Kirk in Edinburgh.

Its fabulous doors are all painted bright red, a much beloved feature of this Georgian church. Local rumour asserts that this colour was once chosen due to access to surplus GPO postbox paint!🖌️📮

A dark green door with four panels in a pale-pink-painted arch-topped opening in a whitewashed bit of wall with more pale pink on either side. The pavement in front is slightly sloping left to right so the bottom of the door isn't quite square. (At least, it's a thing blocking up a doorway that looks like a door, though since it has no handle, doorknob or keyhole I'm not sure it's made to facilitate entry.)

A brown-painted door, slightly ajar, leads into a dark lock-up. The door contains a small grilled panel to let in light while above the door the lintel resembles a flattened ogee arch. A white sign on the door says “The Lock-Up” in large capital letters. The walls to either side are made from classic Cotswold stone.

A six-panel door set into a plain white exterior wall beneath a wide roof overhang. The lower section of the wall features an unpainted rough-textured base concrete trim above interlocking paving stones. Mounted with exposed hinges along its left frame, the paneled door is made out of painted wood.
