The antagonists in "Cymetrodons" (2023) are known only as the Strangers. No one knows where they come from, or even what they really are. They attack in giant fighting machines, and they are always accompanied by an eerie, glowing Green Mist.

Thyssa is a Baskilian garage mechanic who enjoys building giant battle robots from spare vehicular parts. Unfortunately for her, unauthorized use of machine parts is illegal in Baskilia (to ensure that parts for limbsuits are always available).

Thyssa is now serving a brief prison sentence for her violation of the law; but she is about to receive a visit from Grawuul and Kroakoan that will change everything.

Here we see Thyssa building some of her MEAN MACHINES!!!

The Baskilians are a race of snake people who live in Baskilia. They are literally snakes without any limbs; yet they are super intelligent. They have invented "limbsuits," which give them detachable robot arms and legs.

While the Kektrish excel at war and the Nephret excel at healing, the Baskilians excel at making life more accessible for everyone. Every Baskilian citizen receives a free limbsuit, as well as free limbsuit maintenance for life, from their government.

In the lobby card above, several Baskilians are shown rejoicing before an image of their favorite Goddess, Wadjet.

Kroakoan is a Nephret physician and peace activist who witnessed the destruction of Cratermoth by the Ghost Ray. Like Grawuul, they have been forever scarred by what they witnessed that horrible day. Depicted here, Kroakoan studies a piece of hostile alien technology.

The Nephret are a race of frog people who live in a country called Nephret. They are a peaceful people, though their skin is poisonous and can paralyze any non-Nephret who touches them.

They are renowned healers, using their skin toxin to engineer all kinds of medicines for various illnesses. They can even regenerate their own lost body parts.

The Nephret can also switch their biological sexes as needed, much like certain frog species can here in our world. As a result, it is most proper to address any Nephret you might meet as "they/them," even if they look "male" or "female."

Grawuul is a Kektrish soldier. When one faction of his people invented the "Ghost Ray," Grawuul sabotaged the weapon to end his people's civil war.

He saw what the Ray could do when it was accidentally fired upon the rural Nephret community of Cratermoth, which was completely wiped out. Grawuul never wants to see anything like this happen to anyone ever again.

Grawuul might be a soldier, but he is also a pacifist and a true patriot who loves his people, and who wants to see everyone live together in peace.
