5/5 in the battery powered Safari trap. Lowest catch yet this holiday.
Always a silver lining though. New lifer: Dark Spectacle 😁

This morning I was quite satisfied with my first Merveille du Jour of the year, but then I realised a 'pearl' was not one of thevusual ones, having a terminal white bar: Loxostege sticticalis (Mugwort Pearl) which has very few county records, maybe just four in Septemver 2022 #teammoth #VC55Moths
A quiet catch of 32/17 last night, although I did pack up at just after midnight. 3 Box tree. 3 Brimstone. CMC. Gold Triangle. 4 Large YU. 2 Lesser YU. 6 LBAM. Light Emerald. 3 Lunar Underwing. Pale Mottled Willow. Red-barred Tortrix. Small blood Vein. Small Dusty Wave. Snout & Wax Moth #teammoth
Lunar Underwings...new for yr.

One of my favourite Autumn moths, the Black Rustic. Just one in this morning’s trap of 76 moths, 24 species, 3 NFY & 1 NFG; the Tawny-fronted Straw #teammoth
31/11 here in Mundford VC28 overnight with a single Autumnal Rustic nfy #teammoth #norfolkmoths
317/33 incl. garden's 2nd + 3rd Dewick's Plusia (just 67 Devon records to end 2025) and 3 Vestals, incl. the beauty pictured here. 'Late' moths a current feature also: Small Fan-footed Wave and Lime-speck Pug last night, for example. Plus the blizzard of Lunar Underwings. 😎
Axminster VC3.

A staggering 234 Lunar Underwings this morning! Scrolling through the last 3 yrs of Devon records I can't find any other 3-figure counts, so I suspect this is exceptional. LU is a beautiful moth, but sifting that lot for a thus far nonexistent Beaded Chestnut is fun! 😄

Highlights from the past couple of nights in the St Mellion garden - Rosy Underwing, Convolvulus Hawk, Verge Cricket (Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis) in the actual moth trap, Ni Moth and Autumnal Rustic. #teammoth
It's time to give moths their moment! 📢
A vital part of our planet's biodiversity, moths are important pollinators and provide an irreplaceable link in the food chain for species such as birds, hedgehogs and bats.
But they are facing a challenging future.

A few nights recording moths at Horning, produced interesting results, with a near blank on Friday, but good moths Saturday & Sunday nights. Photos pretty poor photos as in a hurry but the stand out star was Shore Wainscot-a new 2k & some distance from the coast #teammoth @norfolkmoths.bsky.social
Nothing new in Marbury VC58 last night but some lovely marked moths. Get a lot of Snouts but they are normally very dull marked but not this one! Also a lovely Brindled Green, another Vestal, 5 Black Rustics, Muslin Moth, 3 Angle Shades and 3 Small Mottled Willows etc!! #teammoth
Rush veneer, Botton. @teesbirds.bsky.social #TeamMoth
Trap results from last night were a bit carp - 33:15
But these were nice- a fresh SMW and a Hypsopygia costalis

My 1st ever Many-lined in the Upton garden trap last night was much appreciated, after several other local records recently, with 2 Golden Twin-spot, Dewick's Plusia, Deep-brown Dart, 3 Blair's Mocha, & 10 Vestal the best of the rest #TeamMoth @dorsetmoths.bsky.social @migrantmothuk.bsky.social
Interesting catch in Tilehurst last night, amongst the Lunar Underwings & Square-spot Rustics ... a Garden Cockroach (Ectobius vittiventris), which seems pretty unusual this far west. #teammoth #ukmoths #cockroach #ectobius
Red Sword-grass new fur my garden on Wirral #teammoth
