I know I shouldnt take two things from the first page but this also so true. Reflecting on it whenever I do something out of my comfort zone I get a certain feeling that activates me and causes me to reflect where when its just normal my body is half asleep. #realityhunger

On the very first page we got a banger. Reflecting on the fact most art is heavily inspired by others and to come from one if not the most famous artist ever hits deep. However, I think theft is a very strong word and taken inspiration for art is great. #realityhunger

#realityhunger with the standardization of writing conventions, so much creativity had to be sacrificed for the sake of being "understood" easier by a broader audience, to be copied easier

#realityhunger a panharmonicon in theory seems like it would just sound ear-shredding, how can you make so many sounds just from cranking a lever? must be a reason we don't hear it anymore

#realityhunger the era of physical media must've been so nice, you couldn't have too much but you still could have what you enjoyed

This really supports the idea that history is written by victors #realityhunger

I find it interesting how part b starts with a timeline of the evolution of stories/ text #realityhunger

So, even if 'I' isn't explicitly used, the author's perspective is always there. The writing is never completely separate from the person who created it #realityhunger

I finished reading and found this to be a simple way to explain my thread of thoughts. Memories are changed and retold in a way suited for a particular story or objective, fundamentally making the nature of memories to be unauthentic after recalling them. #realityhunger

author's perspective.
1. it is not your own
2. you will perceive it differently than the person standing next to you.

explain them to others, they would not be able to visualize the exact same situation and would be susceptible to perceiving it differently. This is pretty neat to think about. If you go to a book store and a biography, for example, tells you one thing, you are being told it from the #realityhunger

the same experience. We can replay memories to the best of our abilities in our heads, but we will never be able to RELIVE them, physically and as a true moment. Additionally, conveying a memory to someone else may get perceived differently. If we did have perfect memories, when we #realityhunger

I would agree with the point that "anything processed by memory is fiction" (pg. 57). To be specific, we can not remember an event and all of its conditions perfectly just by human nature. Not only are we unable to capture all aspects of a certain memory, we are unable to relive #realityhunger

I can now clearly understand one of the author's main points. We are often so "fake" and feel the need to portray ourselves in a particular way, oftentimes conforming to society. The author is essentially telling us that we cannot and should not try to fool our inner selves. #realityhunger

I like that these are all things that make art feel real and authentic #realityhunger

This pretty much sums up my previous two posts and what I meant by front stage dramaturgy. We put on a show when placed in particular roles and contexts when others are around and when we are expected to "perform." #realityhunger

My initial thoughts on part a are what is happening lol?! #realityhunger

@arain24.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 12:07 AM

#realityhunger in the 13th century we had french troubadors writing prose on thwarted love and now we have timothee chalamet in little women, bones and all, and call me by your name so its basically the same thing

To continue, I would also argue that writing non-fiction work can be like this as well. Instead driving a car in a clown suit, maybe you are driving a car in your work attire/outfit/uniform. What difference does it make if you can not express your true self in writing/everyday life #realityhunger

@chillmountaineer.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 12:01 AM

I would definitely agree with this point even. It also reminds me of the concept of the front stage of dramaturgy in human psychology, and by extension, impression management. We always put on a "show" depending on the context we are in and the information we need to present to others #realityhunger
