@thebrambler13.bsky.socialI think the closest that I have to that in Raven & Bear is the Master to Page/Squire dynamics we see in each ofthe stories. Sir Myrddin coaches all of the knights in the order of Branwen as their grandmaster.
Though it's more of a mentorship?

@thebrambler13.bsky.socialArchetypes. That's an interesting conversation to have for Raven & Bear because Ata is based on a famous one from Welsh Myth.
She's a paragon, a leader inspiring others with personal virtue.
Who does that remind you of?
You get two snippets.

Transcript:
“... fear not, she’ll be here in time.”
“I hope so,” an unfamiliar droll replied. Before they carried on, unseen fingers plucked at strings, “my brothers have a lot to say about her, but I’m curious how the little lady sings.”
“Best you speak then,” Sir Corbyn’s cloak ruffled when he paused briefly, likely to bow forward, “I assume it’s about her.”
“Indeed, we expect much of Ata,” Archdruid Derwen held her name gingerly, as though it were nettled, “you must prepare her to become the grandmaster of your order. Tell him, brother.”
“The birds, Corbyn. First was a starling,” Sir Myrddin spoke in a loud whisper from a seated position, “which returned with a white raven. Besides, it’s hard not to see the greatness in her.”

![An excerpt from The Wolf Knight (Raven & Bear: 8) by Bramble.
Transcript:
“That may have changed too,” gloved fingers rubbed the scar hidden under a grass-blue blindfold, “bards sing of your exploits. The druids respect you. So, their heirs regard you with respect.”
“B. to f-six,” Princess Ceindrych interjected with a small smirk when it captured a knight, “many think you may become a worthy steward of the land and a great leader for its people.”
“Where did you hear that?” Bright eyes wrinkled in confusion at that sacrifice, before Ata asked, “are you certain of that?”
“Your grace, you’re coddling,” this young knight tapped his staff against her boot in a gentle reminder, “let her play.”
“It’s alright, I’m used to being helped,” she traded a queen and bishop for the same plus a rook. Frail fingers fidgeted with a loose strand of hair, wrapped around them in pale rings. Then Princess Ceindrych spoke furtively, “Bishop Bainescroft and my loyal wolf speak highly of you, as they could never speak of me.”
“Why not?” Ata’s head tilted to one side, “you’re amazing.”
“That’s kind,” a cloudy stare glanced up from that board in search of brighter eyes, “but I can’t spot a candle in the dark.”
This older girl stepped around the table between them and took a knee. Wordlessly, those dainty hands were clasped in her own which felt rough by comparison. A dusk-lit glower warmed that child’s cheeks before a calloused palm pressed against one with a stern tenderness. Both smiled earnestly as Ata promised the princess she was already a leader and capable of greatness.
“People don’t follow a god they can’t see, they follow you.”
“Checkmate.” Though softly spoken, this phrase held a steady timber. A smirk followed it, “thank you and please, call me Cei.”

@briggsimpulse.bsky.socialDay 5! Raven! Kind of a rehash of an old piece, but i think i pulled it off better here.
@thebrambler13.bsky.socialI think for Sir Corbyn and Ata their happiness is the little moments travelling together where he braids her hair or she'll listen to him ramble about history. Moments where they can just be father and daughter.
I'm a lover of coziness, so...

@thebrambler13.bsky.socialGood question for Raven & Bear given that Sir Corbyn is a mentor.
Ata would teach history, while Sir Corbyn teaches geography.
Grandmaster/Principal Myrddin teaches Religious Education.
I'll leave the other characters up to my knights.
