The VHS buy-and-trade area gets bigger every year. No, they don't have pre-recorded WOC stuff. If they did, I'd probably be spending my entire budget in this room.

I attended two panels today, one with former Sonic voice actors and one with Grant Kirkhope. I learned Grant can speak very fast. He had a lot of stories to cram into 45 minutes.

It's cool that there's a tribute to The Crimson Diamond here. That's not a Sierra game, but it is one in spirit.

Al Lowe was also in the room at the time, quite loudly narrating a playthrough of one of his embarrassing point-and-clicks about a lecherous munchkin.

While I was snapping these photos, Pat Contri was right behind me by chance. When he got to Mystery House, he said "That's what I want to get. I want to get that next." The woman standing next to him said "Lovely, so that can be my dowry."

This year's museum is devoted to the Sierra library of games, with a space in the corner for the XBox's anniversary. It's a testament to how awesome Ken and Roberta are that their efforts make Microsoft's look puny.

When I first glanced at this I thought "A PS5 dev unit for $500? That's less than the console goes for!" But I mistook a 3 for a dollar sign. It's actually $3500, which COULD be a bargain for a regular PS5 eventually.

Is it offensive to cut up old 35mm film reels and sell them two frames at a time like this? Theaters threw them out all the time back in the day. But I know there are collectors of those reels.

This year some guy is selling pay phones! I guess there's a market? He has a wide variety that even includes a British phone booth.

Did not expect Powells Books to have a booth at PRGE. They've carved out space at RCCC for the last couple years, but their presence here is new. None of the books they brought are about video games. GAMES yes, but VIDEO no.

#PortlandRetroGamingExpo Day 2! #PRGE #PRGE26 #PRGE2026

PRGE is my favorite con, and I relish each one because I know the experience won't last forever, being dependent on physical media. I was aware well before Sony made it explicit. Eventually "retro" will have nothing to sell.

Also you might have seen me at Portland Retro Gaming Expo / PRGE ( #PRGE ) earlier today (not going tomorrow, too tired), had a blast!

Even at #prge I can't escape these two hecking arcade machines.

I played the Back to the Future pinball machine so hard that I temporarily took it out of service after taking out an LED light part from it's spot on the layout, and got it stuck in the ball lock after flinging it forward with the flippers.

Uh, oops? Hehehe

Got to meet Spyro today while volunteering at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. #prge #portland #retrogames #gaming #spyro #portlandretrogamingexpo

Got to meet the awesome Mike Pollock in person and got a Yu-Gi-Oh! Card autographed by him, because he is in the Yu-Gi-Oh TV shows. He's well known for being the voice of Dr. Eggman!!

He played Arthur Hawkins in Duel Monsters and his favorite card was the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. #PRGE #PRGE2026

#PRGE Day-Two haul!
