Response: Originally he would have been there somewhere between two and three years, and chooses to go home not long after he finishes his quest.

Then I started doing "What If" scenarios where he chooses to stay permanently - which included coming up with his Lopunny form - and I kinda sorta fell in love with the idea. I've admittedly had a hard time coming up with a reason why he would want to go home, given his life back on Earth, and narratively I'm not a big fan of the idea a being able to go back and forth freely, so its still a story beat I'm working on.

Right now, it kinda exists in my head as a split timeline, but the "He Stays" version is gaining traction.

Yes, both Benji and Candy's settings follow the rules set forth in the mainline games when it comes to offspring. Both parents will need to share an egg group, and the child will always be the same evolution line as the mother.

Toblo1 asks: How does your PMD-verse handle evolution? Did Benji evolve by going to one of the places that catalyze evolution (Luminous Cave, Luminous Spring, The Tree Of Life, etc) or did he evolve due to having high friendship with one of his peers?

Response: Benji's setting works more like the core games or Gates to Infinity, where a pokemon evolves naturally without the need of a special location.

In Benji's case, it's indeed his friendship with the core group that eventually triggers his evolution, along with finally letting go of some mental and emotional baggage that he'd been hanging on to for a very long time.

Finn comes from a very highly regarded Guild family, with ancestry on both sides stretching back for decades, maybe centuries. He feels a lot of pressure to live up to the family name, even though he isn't 100% certain it's what he really wants to do with his life. 🧵
