Three minutes later than last night, but still they came! The four Glossy Ibis dropped onto the scrapes just after 7.15 tonight & did exactly what they did last night ~ bit of a wash & brush-up, a long brush-up actually, before a minimal bit of feeding & then some sleep.

Another interesting twilight roost this evening across Pat's Pool & Simmonds Scrape: a minimum 5 Caspian Gulls (all different to yesterday's quintet) & 8 Yellow-legged Gulls (one beefy adult 👇) amongst over 1000 Lesser Black-backed Gulls & a minimum 350+ Herring Gulls.

I was working in NW Norfolk on 7 Sep so called in at Titchwell. Both Spotted Crakes showed really well on the freshmarsh plus a flyover Osprey, 3 Little Stints and a Wood Sand. Definitely had worse evenings! #NorfolkBirding

As the twilight began to creep in this evening, the ultra-distinctive silhouettes of 4 Glossy Ibis dropped onto Simmonds Scrape. Those cold hours, waiting & waiting on the Lampen Wall, seem half a world away from where we, & Glossy Ibis, are now.

There was a decent gathering of Pink-footed Geese on Simmonds Scrape this evening, over 100 on the deck, plus a few flyover flocks too. From that small sample, there looked to be a good spread of juveniles, which is always so nice to see.

A pleasing last 90 minutes on the reserve tonight ~ the 4 Glossy Ibis dropped in at 7.15 while in the gull roost there where at least 5 Caspian Gulls & 11 Yellow-legged Gulls (plus 100s of LBBs & HGs). Nice to see some Pinks on the ground too 🙂

No Yellow-browed for us today but a wonderful evening looking for non-existent migrants. At least the BWK was there and the sunset was great.

@rspbtitchwellsnett.bsky.social Plenty out craking today but I spent most of my time watching a curlew sandpiper and some active juvenile bearded tits. #norfolkbirding

First Yellow-browed reported - from Trimingham.

No need to dash off for it though, there’ll be others… 🤣

Really pleased to spot my first Short Eared Owls of the autumn this evening. Just something very special about these birds #UKBirding #norfolkbirding #birds

Just stepped out into the garden and added a 6th wader species to the garden list - ringed plover, heard several times. Not bad for an inland garden #Mulbarton #Norfolkbirding

My second viewing of the Spotted Crakes at Titchwell, saw both birds but only managed a photo of one. #norfolkbirding
