Not so good news: #NHLJets Josh Morrissey started the second period, but hasn't played since that one shift. And I don't see him on the bench right now.

Tie game. Kyle Connor with the nifty tip of a Neal Pionk point shot. Nice response by the #NHLJets, 70 seconds after Colorado had opened the scoring.

Connor (4) from Pionk and Samberg is the scoring play.

#NHLJets Stuart Skinner with grand theft larceny early in the second period.

Once again, Martin Necas can't believe he didn't score.

Good news as #NHLJets Josh Morrissey is out here to start the second period.

First period by the numbers:

Shots:
Colorado 17, #NHLJets 6

Shot attempts:
Colorado 28, #NHLJets 15

Expected goals:
Colorado 1.28, #NHLJets 0.46

Actual goals:
Colorado 0, #NHLJets 0

Stuart Skinner was the story.

#NHLJets Josh Morrissey went to throw a big hit right at the end of the first period and comes out of it holding his right hand in some pain, his glove on the ice as he heads to the room for intermission. May have jammed it into the glass.

the crowd going STUUUUUUUU whenever skinner blocks a shot is so entertaining because it sounds like booing but it’s Not #NHLJets #NHL #hnom

Smart move by Stuart Skinner recognizing that the Avs, who knocked the net off its moorings, couldn’t get possession with it off so he went to the bench for an extra man.

That’s using your noggin.

#NHLJets

Fans in the ‘Peg have already gotten in a few Stuuuuu chants this game.

Do we really need a third separate panel to give their take on our goalie situation?? Bring back ONE broadcaster. #NHLJets

Time for another night of "Guess That Streaming Service" just to watch the #NHLJets game again... Fucks sake this is getting annoying, remember the good ol'days ( 2 years ago) who TSN had them ALL for a (somewhat) reasonable price.. ( On Hockey Dot TV )

And here’s colleague @wiebesworld.bsky.social with some thoughts on what we’ve seen so far from the #NHLJets, who’ve collected 5 of 6 points to start the season and now face a potent Colorado team to begin a three-game homestand.

So what absolute paperclip do I need to yell at for ruining hockey on tv? #NHLJets #Tfnoiseisthis

The #NHLJets have taken a bit of an “out with the old, in with the new” approach this year.

And there may be more where that came from.
