Worst of all, #Graphite is rarely ordered and stacking faults make #PXRD much harder to interpret correctly.

#TeamQuartz

I have so much more to write about #graphite! But it’s all so weird & new to me that confirming I’ve gotten it right is A Task.

But if #quartz wins today and again tomorrow, I never need to write about it again… (It’s legit a cool mineral, but it’s been 10 years.)

#MinCup26 choices!

I know it's going to lose because too many basic bitches love quartz, but... let's go Team #Graphite!

Two of my absolute favourites! Do I vote in this #MinCup26 semi for ubiquitous #quartz or slippery, shiny #graphite - so lovely for drawing pencils! And, with enough P and T, it is diamond!

#TeamQuartzite for the win. #Graphite is very cool. But….

#MinCup26 Semifinal 2
It’s a match sure to break hearts between industrial powerhouses piezoelectric #quartz and lubricating #graphite!

(With the correct links this time!)

So it will be cubic v hexagonal for the #MinCup26 final, but what hexagonal mineral will it be? Is #graphite too flaky to stay the course? Is #quartz going to nick it in time? (see what I did there?) Tough call, but I think #Graphite gets my vote today (as I'm off out sketching!)

Siegfried. From imagination. Started as a doodle while tuning a CSP pencil to my hand. Based on Michael Guimont’s pencil, heavily tweaked.

A little pencil drawing in my sketchbook. I am not sure what the flower is, it's very delicate and grows like weeds in the fields where we live.
