The actor here is Dean Stockwell, who of course had a long TV career in other things, but back in season two he was the murder victim in "The Most Crucial Game". #Columbo #QuantumLeap

@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialOkay, let's try a little audience engagement. What's your favorite #Columbo episode and why?
I can start. Mine is "A Friend In Deed", although there are 3 or 4 other episodes I consider pretty close. I like the performances, I like the story, and the gotcha is second to none.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialStarting now on Universal Crime: "The Conspirators". It's got a few sloppy gaps, but also a lot of charm. It's a watchable #Columbo.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.social"Lovely But Lethal" kicked off the 3rd season of #Columbo on September 23rd, 1973.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialOK, so I published my "No Time to Die" episode guide. I gave this one more thought than I expected to, and came away a bit conflicted. There are some good elements of this episode, the problem is that it just doesn't work as a #Columbo. So, spoiler alert, it's still #69 for me.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.social"A Matter of Honor" is starting now on the Universal Crime channel. It's one of a short list of #Columbo episodes that take place outside of Los Angeles.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialThis question came up the other day on social media. How many female killers have there been on #Columbo? Want to take a guess?
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialThis scene in "Blueprint for Murder" was originally written for "Murder by the Book", but didn't make it into the final episode. Peter Falk liked it a lot, though, so he added it to "Blueprint". #Columbo
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialNielsen is quite good in both of his #Columbo appearances. 👍
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialOnly about 25% of "Dagger of the Mind" was filmed in England, mostly exteriors. The rest, including Sir Roger's mansion, was actually in Los Angeles. #Columbo
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.social"Lady in Waiting" in Season 1 is the first time we see #Columbo's famous Peugeot with the top down. Off the top of my head I think we only see it with the top down in 4 episodes. #Columbo
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialHappy birthday to Burr DeBenning, known best to #Columbo fans as Captain Loomis in "By Dawn's Early Light". Like many Columni he also appeared on The Rockford Files and Kojak.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialMy "No Time to Die" episode guide should be done in the next day or so. I rewatched the episode about 3 times over the last week and I think where I landed is that...it truly is not a good #Columbo. But...it's not a bad show as a 90s police procedural.
If this had been an episode of Law & Order...🤷♂️
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialSeason 4 of #Columbo was very good too. It started with "An Exercise in Fatality" and along the way we got "By Dawn's Early Light" and "Troubled Waters." "A Deadly State of Mind" might not have been the strongest episode to end on, but otherwise good season.
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialRest in peace Dick Patterson. He played the lottery emcee in "Death Hits the Jackpot". #Columbo
@lieutenant-columbo.bsky.socialHappy birthday to JoAnna Cameron, who turned heads as Dick Van Dyke's assistant in "Negative Reaction". Later she starred as Isis. #Columbo
