Time to blabber about Vanya and Hestor, my two favourite lovebirds 🥺after they both went through some trauma in the past, their relationship has helped them both to heal ❤️

Vanya (1/2): She was actually raised in the same cult as Constantine; she’s about 1 year older than him. Their people worshipped a god called Llazurios, a serpentine deity who lived among them. They would routinely sacrifice followers to Llazurios, under the belief it would grant them spiritual immortality. However, when Constantine was the next offering, he panicked and ended up killing the creature - revealing it to be a mere wyvern and not a god at all. In the chaos, Llazurios thrashed about and spewed flames across the crowd of cultists. Many were crushed, or like Vanya, burned. Both of her arms were engulfed in flames, and she sprinted to the river to extinguish them. Unfortunately, she passed out from the pain and drifted far downstream.
When she finally awoke, she was on a sheep farm, taken in and cared for by a tiefling farmer. He had no awareness of the cult she came from; he was a surly man who, despite his obvious kindness in saving her, was stern and unaffectionate. Vanya offered to repay him by working on the farm, and he accepted this. Even when Vanya was finally better, with no home to return to, she ended up staying on the farm until she figured out what to do with herself.
Her relationship with the farmer was rather complex - she never saw him as a father-figure or guardian, and they would often butt heads about things. Despite this, the farmer never asked Vanya to leave. He also taught her a lot about tieflings, since her cult had shared woefully little about their race’s origins or culture. He even taught her how to speak infernal, though she wasn’t sure when she’d ever use it. At 22, Vanya had had enough of her reclusive life on the farm. Her and the farmer had been bickering more than ever, and she was desperate to see more of the world. She wanted to be an adventurer, a lifestyle that the farmer dismissed as a ‘fantasy’ that only serves to get young people killed.

Vanya (2/2): Ignoring the farmer’s opinion, Vanya set off one day without so much as a goodbye; she headed for the nearest city to find a job. On a guild board, she found a request from two noble brothers, Faolan and Darcy. Both were spoiled rich kids, but still friendly and kind, if not a bit naive to the world. They’d been urged by their father to go on a quest to ‘build character’ but knew that between them both, they were lacking some muscle - which is where Vanya was a great fit. They planned to go through the Underdark and find a missing artefact, said to be hidden away in a night hag’s lair. Overhearing their quest, a half-elf bard named Leonidis also asked if he could accompany them, since he had a bit of experience with hags and found them to be interesting creatures. Seeing no reason to deny a friendly hand, the four set off on their journey.
Skipping past their perils and triumphs, the four bonded over time, but once they slayed the hag and recovered the missing treasure, Leonidis stabbed the group in the back. He waited until they were near enough to the Underdark exit, and then swiped the artefact and awoke a beholder to aid his escape. It was too much for Faolan, Darcy and Vanya to handle. Faolan lost an eye, and Darcy was petrified protecting his wounded brother. Somehow, Vanya was able to land a critical blow to the monster, and they barely fled with their lives. With their family’s wealth, they could afford to cure Darcy’s condition, but he was left with a chronic illness known as stone lung. Both brothers’ adventuring days were over, and the betrayal and injuries left Vanya traumatised.
As if on cue, a letter arrived to inform her of the farmer’s passing…and that he had left the property to her. She was exasperated, angry…yet the timing offered her a much-needed escape.
Returning to the farm was hard at first. But slowly Vanya began to realise that she liked it there. She had to see the world, to realise how much she cared for the life she’d had.

Hestor (1/2): Hestor is a dhampir - born of the unwilling union between his human mother, Philomena, and a vampire lord. Despite his origins, Philomena was determined to give Hestor a loving and happy childhood. Her family did not see eye-to-eye with her on this, and tried to drown him as an infant, not aware of dhampirs’ breathless nature. Philomena knew she would have to run away to protect Hestor, and so she fled to a quiet, faraway village where nobody knew them. There, she earned a meagre living as a seamstress, using her money to buy livestock for Hestor to feed on (thankfully, he only craved the blood of animals) and keep them both sheltered. Though Hestor was a very shy child, Philomena did her best to acclimatise him to other people - making him ask for things himself at the store or say hello to the neighbours. Hestor on the other hand adores his mother, and was perfectly content with her attention alone…but he tried his best to speak up, since it made her happy. There were struggles unique to her son’s supernatural heritage to worry about too; he was very sensitive to the sun, and always sulked about going out in nice weather. The worst incident was when she caught him with one of the neighbor’s missing chicks - she had to educate Hestor that his vampirism wasn’t an excuse to steal or kill animals that don’t belong to them, no matter how bad his cravings were.
Hestor adored his mother with all his heart, which made it all the more tragic when she fell ill. Hestor cared by her bedside for month, picking up her workload to buy medicine and make her more comfortable. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything that could be done, and she eventually passed away. Hestor was beside himself with grief, shutting himself away in their home for several days just to weep over her body. When he finally emerged, he didn’t interact with anyone in the village. He buried her, and then seemed to vanish again. Then…so did the neighbor’s chickens.

Hestor (2/2): Consumed by his emotions, Hestor found himself no longer in control of his cravings. He began to steal livestock and pets alike from the villagers, and it wasn’t long before he fell under their suspicion. An angry mob came to Hestor’s door, aiming to kill the monster living amongst them. Despite his supernatural abilities, Hestor wasn’t any sort of fighter. He panicked and tried to hide from the villagers, but they were out for blood. It was only thanks to his shapeshifting powers that he was able to transform into a wisp of smoke and sneak past their pitchforks.
Once Hestor finally reached the edge of the forest, he returned to his normal form, exhausted. He realised that he couldn’t live like this, being blamed and hunted by people for trying to satiate his endless thirst. Too scared to return to civilisation, Hestor survived by hiding in the farmlands dotted across the surrounding plains. By feeding on the animals, but never enough to kill them, he could sustain himself just enough to stay alive. He lived in this desperate manner for almost a decade, just drinking enough to keep himself alive and never any more. Any meaning for his existence had died alongside his beloved mother.
One day, he approached one of the newer farms held been visiting, preparing to drink from one of its sheep - until suddenly, he found himself caught in a trap. It had been laid by a farmer, a young, pale-blue tiefling woman named Vanya, who found himself snared amongst the ropes. However, though he’d already braced for her to simply kill him, she took pity. She offered to allow Hestor to live, and even continue to drink from her sheep, but he would have to work on the farm in return. Truthfully, this seemed too good to be true for Hestor, and he gladly agreed. Over time, he and Vanya grew close. They shared their past pains with each other, and eventually, they fell in love. Hestor and Vanya have since gotten married, and continue to run the sheep farm happily together.

This time I'm focusing on romantic relationships. First one is Al and Roundup, and the second one is Lake and Percy! They both had a rocky start, but they are both happy with their partners!

They're both fairly independent on their own, and are both a little overprotective of each other. Roundup loves physical touch more than words, while Al is more in the middle. Percy and Lake both are more okay with showing affection in public, though Lake is a little more shy about it. They aren't too awkward together and seem to be very confident. Percy, however, is pretty jealous of Lake's hair lmao.

Valentines day art of Alejandro and Roundup!

- Alejandro is a very shy person and often likes to kind of keep to himself, but be around other people for company. Roundup on the other hand, CRAVES attention from others whether it's good or bad.
These two are very obvious, but they will continuously deny to everyone else that they like the other person, even when their faces are very red. Roundup loves Al's company. Al brings out a more calm side in him and Roundup actually likes how relaxing that is. On the other hand, Al loves how Roundup fires him up! Finding ways to cheer him up and brings out a chaotic side of him he didn't even know he had! Needless to say, these two work very well together! Roundup loves to take Al to explore all these places he's never been before, or to maybe blow up something belonging to Dread as way to get revenge, and to cheer Al up. It does cheer him up by the way.

Valentines day art of Lake and Percy!

- Lake is a very calm yet chaotic person. She tends to distance herself from others for whatever reason, while Percy is an outgoing and dramatic kind of person.
Lake and Percy are a little more chill in their relationship. Lake wasn't sure at first if she even liked Percy that way, but she decided to give it a shot because it couldn't hurt. They ended up forming a deep connection with each other. Lake finds Percy's cheerful and exciting demeanor to be very comforting while Percy finds Lake's calm and quiet demeanor to be comforting as well. They both feel like they can trust each other with anything. Percy might not be the best at keeping secrets, but he manages to keep any personal stuff Lake tells him to himself. They like to spend their free time watching movies together while eating snacks.
