"My God, it's size is incredible!" So, not only is it now a giant ass werewolf monster thing, but it has a zombie looking corps in the abs that makes kinda look like a G Gundam monster. #DevilManLady

"What the Heck!?" Yeah, the beast ain't dead guys...annnnnnnd you're still going near the truck despite everything...

youtu.be/xTj9jYCiOlw?...

#DevilManLady

Okay so funny thing...I didn't know this had a dub as I don't officially have the Blu-ray yet so I switched over the PlutoTV to watch the English version and had to mull through 160 seconds of commericials!

Jun goes full demon and kills the demon trying to kill her, but shortly after regains her humanity but still keeps her demon form, muscle tone, curves, and all.

"You'll come to accept it..."

Guys, yeah, it's dramagic, atmospheric and poignant...but still Go Nagai. #DevilManLady

Lan has a man chained up, who transforms into a beast, to try to get Jun to transform into a beast like the man did.

This being a Go Nagai joint, ya wanna guess the bigger things demon Jun has aside from the muscles human Jun doesn't? #DevilManLady

"The flash brings it out...in your eyes, the glimpse of the beast!" So, yeah, if you got red eye from the flash, that's not a condition, that's your demon wanting out. #DevilManLady

Okay Toshiyuki Watanabe whose other credits include several "Rebirth of Mothra" movies, the Shenmue games, Space Brothers and GoGoFive!

The OG Devilman Lady manga has Jun as a teacher and an athlete living with her brother while her dad is in the US. The anime has her as a supermodel living in an apartment.

"Beasts call to beasts..."

But it's still Go Nagai, lesbian overtones ahoy. #DevilManLady

Now, this is where I'd say it wouldn't make the show an interesting sit, right? I mean, they even kept the name Jun for the rule 63 Jun. Well...director Toshiki Hirano (Vampire Princess Miyu) and writer Chikaki J. Konaka (Lain, Tamers) changed the manga...a bit. #DevilManLady

Okay I'm REALLY vibing with the BGM and need to look up who the composer is!

The blond that's been stalking Jun, Lan Asuka, convinces her to go for a ride and wants to talk to her about evolution vs. stagnation and yeah if you saw Devilman, you know who's in what role and why Jun's being talked to. #DevilManLady

Ok, I crack about Nagai being the pervy uncle and all that...but his horror stuff is VERY atmospheric and when it looks like a demon is stalking her, the dark music builds and builds like it's own version of the Jaws theme song. #DevilManLady

The irony of me watching this as I'm also rewatching #Castlevania and how this opens with a woman being burned at the stake!
#DevilmanLady #Devilman #Episode1 #AnimeAnthologyNight @digiranma.bsky.social

BTW, if you saw the OG Devil Man, there's a reason Jun's name sounds familiar. Go Nagai has ruled 63 his own property...if you're wondering why, look at the name of the creator and ask again. #DevilManLady

"I just look forward to the day I can leave teen model magazines behind---" So...we got our lead Jun who's friends with a late teenage model..and this is from Go Nagai.

The only bigger light would be the words "Kenichi Sonada." #DevilManLady

"Is this Jun Fudo?" Do you like scary movies? #DevilManLady

"You're fabulous!" Now just stand perfectly still, men love it when you have the blankest of blank expressions! #DevilManLady

When a mysterious stalker pitches Jun Fudo head-first into a brutal confrontation with the supernatural, the supermodel realizes power beyond her imagining!
From Go Nagai, comes a harrowing odyssey through the twisted maze that is Jun's life as #DevilmanLady.
@digiranma.bsky.social

We open on a model with that attitude of "Do I have to be here, I need to throw up last night's dinner before 3." #DevilManLady

I wonder if the theme is Latin for "You saw the name Go Nagai, do not blame us." #DevilManLady
