Text from article: I wish that Springfield was an uplifting story about the power of community coming together in the face of authoritarianism. But it wasn’t. It’s the story of parts of the community coming together to oppose authoritarianism while other parts stand off to the side either quietly nodding in support of the authoritarians or openly cheering them on. Springfield is a story not about the power of community but about the importance of power. It is not enough to help victims. We also have to organize to fight and win power. And if we get power, we must use it. Without illusions or remorse. Put this on a pillow: If Democrats regain power then every member of the Trump regime should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. From Jared Kushner and Corey Lewandowski down to the lowest-level ICE employee. Every business executive who bribed the president, every government employee who got rich, every agent who roughed up an immigrant—they should all live in fear of the law. If there’s evidence that one of these guys jaywalked, or falsified an expense report, or listed a vacation property as a primary residence, they should be facing down a freight train of accountability. No transgression should be too small to sit beneath the notice of the next administration. If we don’t hold these people accountable, then they’ll do it again. I believe this in my bones.

At every turn they have looked away in their duty to counter the lawlessness of Donald Trump. Many of heralded him in hopes of getting on the gravy train. Come November, this screw crew needs to be dismissed.
