@brianhedger.bsky.socialWith Provorov, Severson and Fabbro out tonight vs #Sabrehood ... here's how the defensive pairings are expected to look for #CBJ
This is how they skated Weds at practice:
Werenski-Mateychuk
Soucy-Andrae
Christiansen-Gudbranson
@brianhedger.bsky.social#CBJ won’t have D Ivan Provorov (lower body) vs #Sabrehood in the season opener tonight and he’s also out week-to-week.
Injured his left foot/leg blocking a shot in the final preseason game. Jackets are starting with three of their top six D out.
Severson, Fabbro also out.
@goaliepost.bsky.socialGreaves starts in the opener for #CBJ

@brianhedger.bsky.socialMarchy's magic is gone, but the #CBJ now has a 'moose' on the loose heading into their season opener vs Buffalo.
The #CBJ Failed Power Play Count currently stands at zero.
Tonight’s #BUFvsCBJ referees are Jon McIsaac (2) and Francis Charron (6). Linespersons are Libor Suchánek (60) and Jesse Marquis (86). Supervisor is Brad Watson.
#Sabrehood #CBJ
I’ll believe the effort when the #CBJ score four goals, lose nobody to injury, and win in regulation tonight at home against the Sabres.

@cujorulesdtown9.bsky.socialIMO Werenski was a slam dunk for C till the offseason cluster.
If he signs an extension next offseason he probably gets it next season. Till then its good we are keeping options open in case somebody else really steps it up this year and things go south with Werenski. #cbj
@mattsouva.bsky.socialFrom Porty on the other site, the Jackets are going without a captain this year.
Which drove CBJ fans absolutely nuts last time this happened, so I'm sure everyone will act totally normally again.
@brockr.bsky.socialIf this season goes well, not making Z the #CBJ captain gives the team a strong bargaining chip next summer.
Start the negotiation off by laying his jersey on the table with the C on it. Tell him you want to see the cup picked up by the guy wearing that sweater.
