@vanstanwyck.bsky.socialEven caught out at gunpoint, Storm is cold and unyielding, but she's like that in the middle of playtime with her lover too.
Bill: So that's why you love me. Maternal instinct coming out.
Storm: …
Storm: BRB just gonna go chisel some ice off my heart.
@kphbritt.bsky.socialSo many cheating wives were tripped up by not knowing what was played at the “concert” they didn’t go to that night!

@willmckinley.bsky.socialNothing wrong w/ a screen that's written and blocked like a stage play when it’s beautifully shot.
@unitedwhofans.bsky.socialI want to see how Robert Newton wishes for his wife to love him and no other, only to find out she goes nuts and....oh wait.
@boolittlek.bsky.socialOh, you two are busted.

@ladykdesigns.bsky.social@vanstanwyck.bsky.socialNoiristas might recognize Brown as Nick Adams in THE KILLERS (1946). He gets tied up by Charles McGraw and William Conrad in that chilling diner scene and then runs to warn the despondent Lancaster that hit men are coming for him.

@willmckinley.bsky.socialGood lighting can advance the plot without a word of dialogue.
@tommykrasker.bsky.socialPhil Brown as Bill Kronin
Best remembered as Luke Skywalker's uncle in Star Wars, he had a prolific film career that lasted 50 years. His co-founding of the politically active Actors’ Lab in 1941 got him blacklisted in ‘52. (He relocated to the UK till 1993.) #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession

@tommykrasker.bsky.socialSally Gray as Storm Riordan
Tagged early on “a British rival to Ginger Rogers,” she transferred her talents to the stage to star in My Sister Eileen (1944). Returning to the screen in ‘46, she made a strong bid for stardom in a run of melodramas & thrillers. #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
