"So." Viktor said, settling into the loveseat with his mug of tea, his legs tucked underneath himself. Usually, this sort of thing was supposed to be done in the church sanctuary but Jayce had decided Viktor might be more comfortable in the priest's house. It was where most of their conversations about theology took place anyways, and it was less likely that someone would walk in on them. "How exactly and I supposed to start? Forgive me father for I have sinned or something?" "Traditionally, yes." Jayce said, shifting nervously in his own chair. "But you don't have to say anything you don't believe." "The fuck is that supposed to mean?" "You just…" Jayce gestured. "You can start however you'd like." "Well then." Viktor set his mug down. "Forgive me father for I have sinned." Jayce nodded. "How long as it been since your last confession?" Jayce said, following his script on impulse. "What makes you think I've done this before?" "I don't know, maybe you've tried it out?" "Do you really think I'd have passed up an opportunity to use anecdotal evidence in our conversations?" Jayce sighed. "I suppose not." "Exactly." Viktor said. "So what exactly counts as a sin?" Jayce had to do his best not to laugh. This whole thing was ridiculous. How was it even possible for someone to go their entire life without knowing the rules of this religion? "So." "I don't know, do you?" "I've also heard you use the lords name in vain before." "I never said I was perfect. I go to confession too. That's actually where I got the idea for this." Viktor handed the list back to Jayce. "What about homosexuality? That's a sin, right? But it isn't a commandment." "Homosexuality isn't a sin, and the bible has way more rules and guidelines that I unfortunately have yet to make a list for." "So then how am I supposed to know everything I need to confess?" "Why don't we just do whatever it is that's weighing on your conscience."
