I’ll say again I wish I were watching Jordan Anderson as our TE2 instead of Christian Abney.

#Illini

A .333 average will get you to the hall of fame in hitting a baseball, but not in hiring a DC, Coach Bielema.

#Illini

I don’t think Lovie’s #Illini defenses were this bad. Worse than last season which I thought was impossible

Not the way you want to start the second half. Offside on 4th leads to Shepard TD for Duke.

Houser and Co. need to go back to work #Illini

And Duke takes advantage of the #illini's miscue as Nate Sheppard gets his third touchdown of the game on a 3-yard TD catch.

Duke takes its first lead 28-24 with 10:47 left 3Q.

Duke drive chart is ugly for Bobby Hauck's #illini defense ⤵️

#illini get a stop on fourth down, but Illinois was offsides. Just brutal penalties today.

#illini bringing pressure but can't get to the QB and can't cover in man. Bad, bad recipe.

#illini five penalties for 57 yards after that Edmonson facemask

Robert Edmonson and Grant Beerman gett the first series at linebacker for #illini in the second half

END OF THE HALF:

#Illini leads Duke 24-21

Katin Houser: 16/21, 188 yards, 3 TD
Collin Dixon: 9 Rec, 135 yards, 3 TD

Walker Eget: 7/10, 104 yards, 2 TD
Nate Sheppard: 12 Car, 101 yards, 1 TD

Moczulski from 62 to cover the 3.5 point first half spread would’ve been legendary. 😂

I am in shambles right now #Illini

HALF: #illini 24, Duke 21

Ethan Moczulski shanks a 62-yard FG attempt to end the half.

Offense great. Defense woof.

Duke’s best player was left uncovered for the score.

It happens, but it’s also annoying. #Illini

Ugh. C’mon #Illini defense!! Where is that vaunted new system?? 😖

#illini are going to have to outscore people, methinks.

Duke easily drives 75 yards in eight plays in 1:10 to cut the deficit to 24-21 with 0:38 left and getting the ball out of halftime.

Nate Sheppard has 14 touches for 119 yards and 2 TDs.

I guess 2026 #Illini football is going for 2023-24 #Illini basketball.

“Score as much as you want, we’ll light ya up more.”

Just win, baby. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Annnnnnnd Duke is inside the #illini 10 in just three plays.

Illini allowing 7.5 yards per play. Xavier Scott beat for a second time today.

Big possession for #illini defense to play some complementary football. Duke has a chance to double-dip around halftime.

Collin Dixon has tied the #illini record for touchdowns in a single game with three — before half.

Last to do it? Casey Washington vs. Northwestern in 2023.

HOUSER TO DIXON ONCE AGAIN!

The duo is now up to three touchdowns in just the first half.

#Illini lead 24-14
