I used to manually check traffic to my repos on Github. Github does not offer any good dashboards to creators, not even in 2026.

So I have made my own:

(if somebody is interested, let me know, I can release it, it's really primitive)

Wir arbeiten weiter an der hausgenauen Erfassung der Poststempel. Nun kann man die Karte auf Postwege innerhalb Wiens filtern. Ich hätte es mir anders vorgestellt, aber die Achse nach Rodaun dominiert alles.

Who holds America's debt, every month from 2012 to 2025.

China starts first on $1.17tn and peaks at $1.32tn in 2013. Japan takes the lead for good in June 2019. Britain starts 11th on $110bn — and passes China into second place in March 2025.

This was one of the three hottest US summers since 1940: June to August ran 3.2 °F above the late 1800s across its land. Colorado ran 5.8 °F above, its hottest summer since 1940.

The ten warmest years since 1979 have all come since 2012.

Thinking some more about how archaeological illustration is always created and viewed in a larger context, in my case broadly Western culture. Does anyone have good examples of #SciArt created by and for consumption in a different cultural setting? …

Every UNESCO World Heritage Site, by the country it stands in, 1978-2026.

The USA led it first, then France, then India, then Spain, and Italy since 2004 — and China, which had none at all until 1987, finishes one behind it, 62 to 61.

Most of Galveston Bay's tide squeezes through Bolivar Roads, and this week it ran up to 3.4 knots there. Early in the week it turned once a day; by midweek, twice. 21 to 28 September 2026.

Mercator keeps every shape true and pays for it in area: land at 82° north is drawn 51 times too big. At the same total area as Equal Earth, its poles balloon while Africa, South America and India shrink.

Boston sells itself as a colonial city, but fewer than 1 in 100 of its buildings are older than 1850. Most of the city went up between the 1880s and 1930. Only 1 in 20 is newer than 2000.

If you missed today's @rinpharma.bsky.social workshop, here are a few of my favourite "quick fixes" for some common #ggplot2 issues 📊

1. Use {ggview} to preview plots at the same size and resolution as you want to save them with ggsave() to avoid the annoying resizing

#RStats #DataViz

library(ggview)
ggplot(mtcars, aes(wt, mpg)) +
  geom_point() +
  canvas(
    width = 6, height = 4,
    units = "in",
    dpi = 300
  )
