Yes there are major downsides to the U.S. #highered model, particularly the cost for #healthcare education. But there are solutions for the government to subsidize #medical education to make it accessible while also keeping the well rounded #liberalarts education.

I recognize there was no system where I could have been a #premed #PoliticalScience major (whose favorite subject was and still is #history and took a lot of history classes in university) outside the US, certainly not in UK or India (on UK #highered system)
It made me a better #doctor
