Blurry shoplights at night through a rain-speckled windshield.
The little things we say to get us through the hurricane Fear not, my love, it will be over soon,, the howling has become much lower & the loose roof tiles have already stopped their banging. Don’t be afraid, we’re safe in this house, it’s solid. My greatgrandfather built it with his own two left hands. I know the trash cans are racing down Main Street. I’ll collect them tomorrow, when it’s over. Look, even the trees are waving to signal that everything is allright. One is even caressing the roof to console the house. Put your head on my shoulder, darling, I will stay with you until the storm is over, even if it takes days or years.

My Poem - ©️Catherine Beavis . i linger within the onyx shade enshrouding darkness my comfort where every shadow whispers every shadow echoes uttering your veiled words of goodbye a hurricane of hurt tearing me apart for i truly thought i loved you i thought you loved me perhaps it is the only cure to heal my sad nostalgic heart & so here i sit pretending convincing myself that i never loved you now i wait in my grey days of apathy scared to step into the light to trust or clutch at hope for it may let me down where then would i be so on moonlit nights with my dreams in penumbra i watch the dancing stars yearning to escape yearning to join them & to fly far far away @CatherineBeavis

A lone figure in a long coat stands on a rain-soaked street before a towering black data-center spire wrapped in glowing green, violet and orange neon clouds.
