Spotlight drew just as much fire. Multiple people noted search still fails to locate basic apps like "Chess" or local files on macOS, leading a steady stream of commenters to treat third-party tools like Raycast or Alfred as non-negotiable defaults. #ux 2/4

Several commenters called out the article's progressive rendering demo as cherry-picked to flatter AVIF. The pushback insisted that on unstable or slow connections, JXL's progressive decode offers a noticeable visual benefit that video-derived codecs still struggle to match. #ux 3/4

When Marathon (2026) launched PlaytestCloud contracted me to produce a report based on the experience of 30 players who played the game over a period three days.

An image showing a Complier from Marathon on the right. Which looks like an armored mage like figure with a glowing chest.

On the right is the title "Marathon - Competitive Player Experience Deep Dive" with Playtest Cloud's logo above it.

Then below, in highlighted text is "The game overall will likely appeal to, and at least initially, retain an experienced and skilled player group. However, mass market appeal may be hard to attract and retain as the game is difficult and has some significant onboarding challenges."

Oh god. New phone. Even though the user went through transferring the data from old phone. Every. Single. App. Needs re-authorisation. And I’m so done with every single app developer thinking that they will bring some ass-bat value by making the #UX for entering #password tiny bit different and […]

If a player tries something in your game & it doesn't work they are unlikely to try it again unless they receive clear feedback that something has changed/that they need to keep trying.

This can cause issues with learning contextual controls that only function in specific situations.

Website design - the main goal is to INFORM your visitors. Cluttering up the screen with intrusive, non-informative content is sure to drive visitors AWAY.

Here's a website that makes less than 1/3 of the page actually available to read.

I see sites from organizations who say they'll make the best websites for businesses. Yet, they have many #accessibility issues and might not even bring up the word 'accessibility'. I think this is a problem.... anyone else? #UX #WCAG #a11y
