Another one…I really want to know where, exactly they’re coming from 🤔

A quick dash up to Carsington for the Spoonbill ✅️ . Obligatory look on the toilet wall produced Yellow-line Quaker nfy. #TeamMoth
Last night of September - Just 38 of 11 #teamMoth the autumnal falloff, but with luck, soon come the Mervs and Decembers (photos from my archive)
A slightly soggy moth trap this morning, but NYG Barred Sallow. Lunar Underwing, Black Rustic. Hornet, Parasitoid wasp and many many craneflys 😆 #teammoth @dorsetmoths.bsky.social
Well the trap failed me - loose connection - but I did get a new plant bug for the garden and for me Stictopleurus punctatonervosus. #TeamMoth
Humming-bird hawk-moth at rest, Botton @teesbirds.bsky.social #TeamMoth
Highlights of the Moth trap, what highlights? #teammoth
My first 4 Redwings of the Autumn over, also 5 Skylarks and a few Siskins the best of viz-mig.
From the MV in the Darwin Forest last night. Feathered Thorn, Grey Shoulder-knot, Merveille du Jour and Green-brindled Crescent #teammoth
In Windsor Great Park for a @ucllifesciences.bsky.social REF retreat, so of course took the moth trap. Only 110:17, probably thanks to the clear skies and moon. Highlights were my 2nd to 6th Deep-brown Darts, Feathered Thorn, Orange Sallow, and 77 Lunar Underwings, all NFY. #TeamMoth
Very little from the garden last night. Brick was a garden year tick, Small Dusty Wave, Willow Beauty were about the only different moths. #TeamMoth
71/30 in the Darwin Forest last night. NFY's, Feathered Thorn, Grey Shoulder-knot and the first Epirrita agg of the year. Also of note 2 Merveille du Jour, Green-brindled Crescent, 3 Pink-barred Sallow, 2 Barred Sallow and Autumn Green Carpet. Also my latest record of Ypsolopha sequella #teammoth
The early promise didn’t really continue, but still some interest in the traps this morning, with NFYs of Chestnut & Red-line Quaker.
Plus a Dewick’s Plusia, 3 Small Mottled Willow and 4 Black Rustic.

Pink-barred Sallow was NFY last night & was joined by another Vestal (honestly, this is a wild autumn for them!) + Brown-spot Pinion & Barred Sallow all in the mix too. Decent return on a breezy, moonlit night.
