Nectar tears dripped streams of purple and yellow fluid down her restraining hands. The anger at her father was slipping away. Even her spark felt soothed for the first time in nearly two decades. It had served its purpose, taken its turn outside of this paradise and earned its place back here. That’s what the Holy Lullaby was saying. Words from a mother to its child when it came back home dirty and tired. She had done her best. Suffered in that place, and come home to Mother. Come home to keep Mother company once more.

No. No! A splinter of something cold and angry stabbed deep inside her soul. Her Spark agreed but Mother is welcoming us home. Her face so kind. Her eyes so deep.
