@tommykrasker.bsky.socialUntil now, all we knew of Bill was his fondness for women; his character has been defined mostly by his failed strategies for escape. Now we see a man so horrified by an act of savagery, he takes swift action. We glimpse his moral backbone & inherent decency. #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
@tommykrasker.bsky.socialUntil now, it was possible to view Clive as a cuckolded husband whose actions – while horrifying – were rooted in recognizable human behavior. But his decision to toss a live dog into a tub of acid provides our first insight into “who he is.” He’s a sociopath. #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
@vanstanwyck.bsky.socialExposition with (flimsy) explanation incoming!

@dwayneadd.bsky.social"What did you see Monty?"
If Monty was actually able to describe the other room, we'd have a major scoop.
BTW: Kronin's beard is coming along nicely.

@pmoll.bsky.social"detached politeness" -- perfectly put!
@willmckinley.bsky.socialSally Gray has a bit of a Constance Bennett vibe.
@pmoll.bsky.socialum... do we know why the lover agreed to be chained up by the husband?
@tommykrasker.bsky.socialEach time Clive visits Bill, he lingers longer; he reveals more. He’s increasingly engaged. Ironically, Bill – the warm, outgoing Yank – is precisely the sort of person who might have helped free Clive from his cultural constraints. If he didn’t have to die... #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
@tommykrasker.bsky.socialNewton’s performance is a master class in controlled menace; Clive carries out his plans with the same detached politeness he extends to colleagues and patients. And Newton – charged with endless exposition – uses it to chart Clive’s evolving bond with Bill. #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
@unitedwhofans.bsky.socialMaybe next time don't put your evil dungeon cell so close to your house.

@vanstanwyck.bsky.socialI love the parallel shots of Monty following in Clive's footsteps with the music changing from ominous for the human to jaunty for our hero. Doggy Third Man tunnel is my favorite.
@tommykrasker.bsky.socialAbsolutely fooled me the first time. Might’ve fooled me the second. 😅😅 #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #Obsession
