What i love about #cdrama #AgainstTheCurrent is that despite all the serious and hard thematic it shows very clearly and without pink glasses it keeps (apart from ep1) a light and optimistic atmosphere and a hopeful vibe.
It transports the message and emotion "at the end all will be alright" ✨️💕

Yes! The possibility of change, character growth, learning from past mistakes and experiences. We so rarely actually get to see it in dramas. Xiuwan is fab now. (And we know Jinqi is going through his own learning curve after all his fuck ups with Lanxiang/Jialan.) #AgainstTheCurrent

It was a little convoluted, the reason Xiuwen didn’t go to Jinqi, but obviously we needed that reason so that she could go to Lanxiang/Jialan instead. I love that everyone is now seeing her as the eminently capable one who’ll decisively solve whatever impossible crisis there is. #AgainstTheCurrent

Fortunately, they’re all the way back in Jinling so can’t get in Lanxiang/Jialan’s way as she spreads her wings and soars in the capital. By the time they’re all reunited again, she’ll have won over the emperor, changed the world for women and will be unstoppable. #AgainstTheCurrent

She’s moved on from “I picked it up from the nuns” to “it’s all research for a play I’m writing”. Excuse upgrade needed for knowledge upgrade! 😆 #AgainstTheCurrent
