Stained glass window of 1898 by Mary Lowndes.

Unfortunately, the church was locked so we had to admire the window from outside.

At least we could appreciate Mary Lowndes technique for the clothing, angel’s wings & faces.

The Illumination window by Mel Howse, 2019 in Durham Cathedral. Doves hover over water and fire, all symbols of the Holy Spirit. The intention seems to be to shed coloured light into the aisle, but there's much more to it than that. #StainedGlassSunday
