In the southwestern U.S., sudden heavy rainfall can cause devastating flash flooding in part because water can't easily infiltrate dry soil. Instead, it flows overland as rills, and those rills funnel into channels. DAS may detect the switch from infiltration to rills. #SRL ⚒️
