i like to say
i’m smiling on the inside
when it’s probably more of a sneer
when i was working
people got used to me answering
on the third ring
those in the know knew i was doing
thich nhat hanh’s
telephone meditation
now i let it go to voicemail
Prisms of light
broken up
by fresh drops
that run down
the glass
A dark background
the stormy sky
lightning above
illuminates the
inky blackness
Can you see
your own reflection
is it crystal clear
or is it shattered
by thunder outside?

; writing became my weapon. the ability to transform destruction into creation became a coping mechanism; expressing my pain through words allows me to stay alive.
i write, therefore i am; therefore i exist; therefore i survive. ♡

One of my favourites, one of my early poems here from a #vss365 prompt. The poem is on the challenges of living with an unpredictable #ChronicIllness and appreciation for #Caregivers

I could never pick my favorite poem, but I am sharing Cuttings, by Theodore Roethke, as well as my poem, Still Life Lady’s Slipper and Glass, from my book, 539. It is one of several poems I have written for my friend who died in 1986.
Dunno if this is my favorite, or best (as there is little distance between my best and worst). But it is my Braveheart speech to poets and creators all. ❤️

There were different coloured labels. Red. Blue. White? I never bought a bottle, but somehow we always drank it. I only discovered they didn't sell it in pubs when I was finally old enough to go in one. I switched to vodka. Now I get berry cider, tastes like j2o.

Sept 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada to acknowledge cultural genocide of Indigenous Peoples, honour survivors, and work to grow together with mutual respect. This is my offering.
I remember
watching that
puppet show
overseas
with dubbed
dialogue
but it sparked
the imagination...
#Thunderbirds GO!

a lifetime before super mario nation
there was supermarionation
i never saw the thunderbirds
but i really wanted to live
in the futuristic black world
of fireball xl5
so jealous of steve zodiak
when he flew hover bikes
with doctor venus

She's an odd goose.
She yearns to fly formation,
hold the line of an elegant V.
But she's the mis-shapen dot
over the i; no-one can find her,
always in the wrong place.
