Watching Charlie* laying into some huge riffs reminds me of Johnny Marr's recent description of electric guitars as "machines for making pop music" #SimpleMinds
* The only Burchill worth listening to.

@janest.bsky.socialSimple Minds at Radio 2 in the Park in Stirling (my old university!) - AMAZING! Jim Kerr still has it - and his energy levels are off the scale. Lovely to see a wide range of their music in the set - I Travel and Love Song were a lovely surprise, as was Belfast Child. #bbcradio2 #simpleminds
@gargarin.bsky.socialLove that the male band members of #SimpleMinds look like hardbitten detectives from an episode of Rebus . The female member's are fresh from Studio 54
@newforestchild.bsky.socialI am transported back to the Hammy Odeon May 1984. Simple Minds in residence for 8 nights. I was there for 7 of them.
Time Travel exists.
Happy Days.

@paulkirkley.bsky.socialSomething rather wonderful about the "hubby's famous lasagne" crowd getting their groove on to I Travel. #SimpleMinds #Radio2InThePark

@themellers.bsky.socialAnd hoping #SimpleMinds go way back in their set
πΉ
