It's comfort-watching time (yes, still), so not much in the way of spec fic.
Coping with my hip means putting on nonsense I don't mind missing as I tend to fall asleep a lot. š

Iāve been reading The Poppy War, and by reading I mostly mean āa really jarring perspective shift halfway through the book knocked me out of itā and Iāve been too indecisive to move on to something elseā¦
Otherwise Iām doing another play-through of Elden Ring thatās been fun
I recently watched "In the Blink of an Eye". Three interwoven narratives. One happening today, one in the distant past, one in the far future. I was a little dismayed at first to see so many of my own story elements in this film, and I had to remind myself... 1/2
29) Fantasy/Sci-fi media
I got on a Last Unicorn kick. I realized my husband had never seen the movie! WHAT?
So I got that from my local library and watched that with him. Surprise: it's still great.
Then I decided to re-read the book and pick up the sequels (Never read!)

29: I recently finished Beyond Redemption by @michaelrfletcher.bsky.social and absolutely loved it. Very dark and very fascinating worldbuilding ideas. I recommend it, though I wouldn't say that it's for the faint of heart.
When Iām in the writing flow, i donāt read much, unfortunately. Inside as Game Playing, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (i love it). Company of Heroes 3 (Itās relaxing). Valheim (itās challenging, but i just want to grow my crops š)

Joshua Dagon's five glamour stone stories, which were just re-published as a single anthology. Wicked and funny and thoughtful, and nicely full of its own lore. Demons, angels, magic, and illusionāfrom silly comedy to psychological horror.

I've been replaying one of my favorite video games of all time, Shining the Holy Ark on Sega Saturn. It's a first-person dungeon crawler with very fun exploration mechanics and weirdly cute monsters.
Rewatching The Clone Wars because my witch has never seen it and sheās on a Star Wars kick. Also just started reading Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher.

#SeptemberWorldbuilders D9:
Not much really. I've dusted off my Star Trek Online account when a couple of friends got back into it, but that's it, and I don't expect to stick with it long.
I'm already remembering why I stopped all those years ago.
Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders, It's the end of the month and we're on our basic/broad questions about you!
What fantasy or scifi (or horror!) media have you been engaging with lately? Games, TV, books, anime, whatever ya got, tell me what you're enjoying! Or, perhaps... NOT enjoying?š

The Aulmish goddess of vengeance, Seda, is called She Who Walks the Arch in Darkness. She represents the shadow of the planet eclipsing the planetary rings at night.
Magic is energy manipulation in Anura, and that includes the reflection, refraction, absorption, bending, or creation of light.
Darkness isnāt a discipline per se, but you can bend light away from someoneās eyes or banish all of it in an area.

Light and shadow are two fundamental elements of magic (as seen by the culture the characters live in). Shadow may or may not be darkness.
There are many ways to use these, from sensing to powerful attacks to transportation and the possibilities are technically infinite.
If I remember right, Choleric Magic involves fire, which famously produces light.
Equivalent for light.

There are forms of miraclecraft that invoke the deities of light and darkness. There's also a form of magic used by sorcerers that distorts the nature of both.
The closest Nixtral has to light or dark magic is Spark, the lightning element. Conjurers able to wield this magic can create brief bursts of light using electrical pulses.
Exceptionally powerful ones can produce enough light to imitate a small sun!
