Yes. Savage as You is very, very coming of age but queer. The characters are all trying to navigate who they are, what they want, and they're all very much making mistakes along the way. As well as the harms of repressing who you are. How it can end up hurting people.

No, Hunted and Called is set in a queer-normative society, so no need to 'come out'. That's the case with most of my stories, actually.

Most of them I'd say

No, cuz most of my stories are pretty queer-normative. Talia comes out to the reader in chapter one.

It does occur to me that Ill want to figure out how to have Charlie come out to the reader and to Jack. I guess she doesn’t have to come out to him on-page, but…

In book 1 no, but mostly just because there is no “coming out” in their world, it’s very queer normative there.

In the series as a whole, Mary’s got some stuff to work through and things to realize about herself, then she’ll get the closest to a “coming out” moment.

#QueerPrompts October 11:

Several coming out scenes in my books, but this one was special. Zachary Pearce, coming out in front of a group of reporters, specifically to protect Luke, who wasn't ready to be out to the world. 💕

“Only one player remained apart, stripping out of his uniform like nothing that was happening affected him at all. Pearce chuckled softly as a few reporters took notice. “If you’re looking for a story, I can give you one. You’re wasting your time with the kid.”
Slowly, the room quieted, everyone waiting to hear what Pearce would say.
“I’ve only ever been with one woman. And it’s been years.” He slouched against the side of his stall. Seemed bored. “I prefer men.”

Both Nix and Zephyr come out to their parents because they're expected to marry girls and produce children who inherit their elemental magic, but I decided to make Paranormal Activity Club queernormative so no one has to come out because there's no assumption of cis & straight.

It's a central plot point in #TY4LM and the spark that ignites our narrator's queer awakening~🦈

Sticking to placeholder names, Spider comes out inadvertantly with Some Idiot's unplanned Fake Out Make Out on a police livestream. It's not a fun time for her, and where the story's dystopian elements come into sharper focus. (Though the run up to that is all too real world inspired)

@melwaverly.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 9:03 AM

Since coming out is a never-ending thing, yes, pretty much all of my characters come out to someone at some point.
WIP1 deals with two coming out stories though (Julie and Izzy, but at different times)

Also, including this just as a reminder that it's chill if you're not ready.

from “the big wip”:

a good part of the world is queernormative, so Eloy, being from a homophobic place, is the only one that sort of “comes out”—& that’s not via saying he’s gay (there’s no such labels), but in admitting he’s in love with his best friend, the Prince of Ferraz, aloud

'The Canary' - Katie is out as bi but realizes she's a lesbian by the end of the story. She was too masculine to ever hide from her peers.
Bekah is closeted but not very quiet about her hidden desires but not open exactly either

The short answer is no. Omega's Burden starts with the open declaration that the protagonist, Weslea Moreau, is queer and this is the reason his biological mother displaces him from the house while his father is out of state on 🧵

Hi #QueerPrompts

I mightn't've read queer literature but a cute bi short film where the boyfriends get going to a love song certainly filled me with hope

Writing my own positive bi rep in the WIP (no threesome, relationship-based sex) is doing the heavy lifting for me

i grew up fundamentalist in the 80s and 90s. I am not kidding that positive queer rep, especially directed at young people like Rick Riordan is doing now, might have changed the course of my fucking life. a few years ago when i saw the cover of the Nico/Will book i wept for 30 mins.
