This is one of my favourite scenes. It is the moment Daxton confesses his feelings for Daelan. He realizes his feelings are not a typical "brotherly love" scenerio.

After what seemed like almost a decade of time, I let out a long, soft sigh. I looked down at my tea, it was cooling off while the conversation seemed to be heating up. “You aren’t making this easy.” I say quietly, stiff as a board next to him.

“Not making what easy?” He is looking at me and I can tell, without even having to see his eyes, that he has that concerned look on his face.

“Not being able to keep these feelings from growing and showing them.” I stay still, my breathing is laboured and I can feel my heartbeat pounding against my chest. I made a confession, I can’t take it back, I might as well just go full in. “I’ve been struggling since the brewery. No, I have been struggling since day one, but now I really understand these feelings now. I chalked it up to brotherly affection, like you were protecting me because you were an only child and maybe you wanted a brother in your life. But ‘brother love is not things like cuddling while I fall asleep, or holding me until I can calm down enough, or noticing these small things that I do. That’s a real kind of affection.” I finally looked over at him, “You’ve been there since I was thirteen, Daelan. Solid, present, dependable.”

This is the only mention of "panel" I had in multiple WIPS. Kind of boring. Daelan has been invited to Colorado to partake in a graphic art conference. Daxton is concerned about how fancy and expensive the hotel is.

The taxi stops in front of the hotel, for a moment I feel like I have been transferred to a fairytale for a moment. The hotel is in front of mountains, a waterfall on the right side, manicured lawns and a giant fountain in the middle. I don’t think I have seen a hotel this luxurious before, let alone am about to spend time in one. I look over at him, he doesn’t seem to notice that we are entering a fucking castle. “This, uh … this is a place. Are you sure I don’t need to chip in for the nights we’re here? This place kind of looks like it’s a billion dollars a night.”

He looks over at me and lets out a laugh, real and genuine as he smiles so wide, his teeth show. “A billion dollars a night? Daxton, I doubt there are any hotels that charge that much. And this is covered by the conference, remember? They invited me to be part of the panel so I get free room and board.” He starts toward the door, motioning for me to follow, “We should check-in before I think about starting to eat you, I need food stat. Real food, the stuff on the airplane was … mediocre at best.”
