@zzorgon.bsky.socialAt 87 (!) Judy Collins still tours, playing the western US from AZ to WA these next 2 weeks. She started w/ classical piano, but found herself drawn to singing the folk songs her dad sang.
Fun fact: her blind musician dad tuned my mom’s piano.
Someday soon. 🤞
@galenstone.bsky.socialTonight's song reminds us that positive change is never impossible, given the Will to make it so.
How hopeful I was when this was new..
I still have hope, tempered with cold forged realism.
Let's do it better this time, yeah?

@zzorgon.bsky.socialWith summer heading out the door (Hello fall!), seems fitting to bid it adieu w/ Itzhak Perlman & John Batise’s new recording of the George Gershwin classic Summertime. At 81, Perlman’s still touring w/ shows coming in PA, MD & NJ.
Not quite flannel sheet weather.
@galenstone.bsky.socialTonight's song is one of my favorites of all time.
Covered by almost everyone, but this version is my current favorite

@zzorgon.bsky.socialStill strikes me odd that Gene Harris semi-retired to Boise after a full career when he really had no ties here. He said Boise was a “random choice” & he just needed to get away. He stayed because the community welcomed him. Glad he did. He gave back.
Goodnight.
@galenstone.bsky.socialTonight song is especially for every ICE agent now being prosecuted. Have the day you deserve.
