38 years ago today, October 8, 1988, Eddie Rabbitt debuted at #66 *Hot Shot Debut* on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “We Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right”. It went on to peak at #7 for two weeks and spent a total of 22 weeks on the chart.

It’s been my hobby to collect 45 RPM singles throughout the years. I played this energetic song many, many times back then at AM 650 KYAK, the station I worked as a broadcaster for from 1987-1991.

They'd receive several 45 RPM vinyl duplicates, and we'd dub the songs onto cartridges. So, several records would get thrown away. This is one of many I rescued from being thrown away.

About the time this song was released and being played on the radio was around the time Barbara and her children were in a terrible car accident. She was still recovering from the injuries when my grandma and I saw her in-concert here in Anchorage in 1986.

It’s been a fun hobby to collect 45 RPM singles over the years. I went to hang out with a friend who was on the air at 1080 AM KTNX back in 1984, and he played this song by Sawyer Brown. To this day, it’s one of a few songs he played that evening that stirs up memories of me wanting to be on the radio announcing songs too. Nearly 3 years later that dream came true for me when after interning for a few months I became a radio broadcaster at 650 AM KYAK.
