Naming the couple from my MindWalkers series would be a spoiler, but this always has and always will be their song:

If Gielle showed up late for [redacted], Maris would lose its neutral independence status.

Or [redacted] would erupt in war.

So "winter" is kind of a mixed bag.

On Ijost, the quiet season is for rest, following the harvest. Temps sink, and many creatures begin hibernating. Any Lumineye offspring born earlier in the year receive their names on Natal Day.

Gielle despises asking for help.

Particularly in the beginning, she's determined to push through everything on her own. Then something (spoilery) happens, and she realizes she's one little human.

But even then, asking is a monumental task.

For the #MindWalkers, "summer" is the worst time of the year.

On Maris, typhoon season is one for hunkering down followed by quick repairs before the next storm rolls through.

Lycaon’s monsoon season is similar, with ranchers moving their herds to higher ground.

As much as they antagonize each other, Gielle and Jarian work well together. Their strengths and weaknesses balance out.

A good thing since they're trying to track down Gielle's father's assassin.

The biggest decision Gielle faces is whether she'll become a full-fledged member of the Project or assume her place on the throne. Because the Senate won't let her do both.
