In early October 1869, a category 2 hurricane made landfall on Cape Cod before bringing a major storm surge and damage to portions of Maine and into the Bay of Fundy. The Saxby Gale was the name given to this storm, which stemmed from a bold prediction made nearly a year before landfall. #MEwx #MAwx

A pair of fronts passes through New England on Monday morning (spot shower chance in the am), with chilly air behind it. Tuesday morning will be spent in the 30s & 40s for most!

It’s time to wave goodbye to the warm half of the year. This month may look like a typical transition month with bouts of warmth and chill, with neither dominating for an extended period. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx

After last weekend's soaking and today's showers, New England has returned to a mainly dry pattern. Sysyems will split to the north & south late this weekend, leaving scattered showers in between. October chill arrives next week. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx

A cold front today will help end building warmth across southern New England while bringing showers. Another cold front early next week will bring a chilly October air mass to the region by Tuesday. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx

Maybe one last dose of summer warmth? Friday will be warm & a bit humid for the southern half of New England. Clouds & showers will cap any potential warmth for northern areas. Cold front crosses through the day, bringing temps & humidity down for the weekend. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx

A mild couple days are in store, along with some humidity. This will be quickly erased by a pair of cold fronts on Friday and early next week, setting up more fall-like weather. #MAwx #CTwx #RIwx #NHwx #MEwx #VTwx
