Because I missed the chance to post this at the start of the month, now seems like a good time

Also worth noting tonight Macross II was one of the few Macross soundtracks to have an English release.

Wish I understood how tabletop games worked back then. Would've been nice trying this one out. #Robotech #Macross #RPG

Y’know… @digiranma.bsky.social
I HATE the Disney streaming price hike but the FACT that I’ve never seen Macross II look THIS good! (Thankfully Animeigo owns the physical media rights)

I LOVE this eyecatch and it’s a nice update to the original Macross TV Series one!
#Macross #MacrossII #LoversAgain #OVASeries

I feel like this OVA Series and #Gundam0080 would be a good double feature given they're both peak 90s Haruhiko Mikimoto!

Whelp I just ordered the Blu-ray from Animeigo! Hey it's 2 days before my birthday, gonna treat myself!
#Macross #MacrossII #LoversAgain #OVASeries

Also presently Animeigo is planning a Blu-ray release. If you want this piece of anime history the order window is closing fast!

On the English side since this came out before the whole Harmony Gold Robotech debacle it was initially released by US Renditions but then transferred over to Manga Entertainment. Recently it's streaming by Disney of all companys!

Animation was done by Studio AIC (Oh My Goddess, early Tenchi Muyo, Battle Athletes franchise) with music by Shiro Sagisu (Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, Evangelion, BLEACH) and Haruhiko Mikimoto returns as the character designer!

So some big shift happening with #MacrossII the original production team on Tatsunoko, Studio Nue and Artland broke off from Big West production wise. This OVA Series came out in 1992 and while initially #Macross continuity it was then retconned to alternate universe events!

Alright folks tonight is gonna be a 90s anime night! As I'm packing for my weekend trip gonna kick of the evening continuing my #Macross marathon with #MacrossII #LoversAgain! Gonna do the OVA series (subbed) and the movie after @digiranma.bsky.social and I watch #BubblegumCrash!

Mikumo Guynemer - Macross Delta

Just started watching this series, which ups the ante on Macross's sci-fi meets idols formula by adding a full-on magical girl idol unit that works alongside the space pilots.
