@thejudyroom.comSeptember 28, 1937: A busy day for Judy. During the day, she was at MGM, along with Mickey Rooney and Ronald Sinclair, filming this scene (see photo) for "Thoroughbreds Don't Cry." The film was Judy's first with Rooney.
@thejudyroom.comSeptember 26, 1943: The “Hollywood War Bond Cavalcade” returned home to Los Angeles.
Judy is barely visible in this silent film footage of their arrival, partly because of her height and partly because of where the stars happened to be placed.
@thejudyroom.comShe sang "Over the Rainbow" and a song sketch, "Start the Day Right." The latter was probably performed with Hope. There are no extant recordings of this show.
Judy made over 25 weekly appearances on the show through May 1940.
@thejudyroom.comSeptember 26, 1939: Judy Garland returned to radio as a "series regular" on the NBC Radio show "The Pepsodent Show Starring Bob Hope." This was her second time as a series regular on a radio show, the first being in 1937 on the "Jackie Oakie's College" show.
@thejudyroom.comSeptember 25, 1938: Here is a fun photo of Judy dancing with Bobby Jordan at the "Jitterbug Jamboree" event at the Hollywood American Legion Stadium. Included are an ad, an article, and a photo blurb about the event.
