For today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Iridescence, I offer this lovely Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica), the most widespread species of swallow in the world, occurring on all continents, with vagrants reported even in Antarctica. We saw this one in South America.

A Common Goldeneye and Barrow's Goldeneye, sister species and some of the many fall + winter duck migrants in our neck of the wood. The males have sharp #Black&White outfits, but note too the very slight #iridescence on the head!
