I’m really sorry their guy got hurt, but I was terrified Laughery was gonna die in that sideline kicking net on that play.

#illini Nathan Knapik just tossed an MSU defender into the bench. Bart Miller has to like his OL's physicality today.

#illini QB Katin Houser is really playing point guard today: 20 completions to seven different receivers.

Juice Clarke is amazing.

I know he went head down but not a lot of college CBs will even attempt to front up and form up with a solid base against a big TE like that.

#Illini defenders came to play today.

Penalties: MSU 3-28, #illini 0-0

Omg I finally found Hank Beatty’s TeenyMate, and his name is Eddie Kasper!

Let’s keep him, can we keep him??

HALF: #illini 20, Michigan State 7

Big end-of-half drive for Illinois to score and keep MSU off the field.

Total yards: Illini 261, MSU 83
Time of possession: Illini 20:52, MSU 9:08

Brayden Trimble goes down on the sideline with a leg injury.

Praying it’s nothing serious. 🙏 #Illini

#illini WR Brayden Trimble is hurt on the sideline. Grabbing his left ankle.

Completely forgot about dinner reservations that were set tonight.

The place we’re going to will not have the game on.

This is a rough spot to be in. 🤦‍♂️ #Illini

That was a complete 180 for both Michigan State’s offense and Illinois’ defense.

11 plays, 75 yards, 5:28

This is still a game whether we like it or not. #Illini

Not a fan of stunts and twists on the DL with just three down linemen, and without more rushers coming behind them.

It just delays your rush and adds nothing to it when there no opposing o-linemen have to worry being on an island. #Illini

Michigan State finally finds an offensive rhythm as Milivojevic completes four straight passes to lead MSU on an 11-play, 75-yard scoring drive.

#illini 17, Michigan State 7; 3:29 left 2Q.

MSU gets the ball out of half, so an important Illini offensive drive coming up.

This #Illini offensive approach is like a different ball team today.

It’s not just individual play-calling. It’s above that. It’s aggressive, fast, hungry.

It’s not the complacent-early, scared-late booth/sideline psyche I’ve been watching.

Whatever it is, it’s very new, and I want it to stay.

ILLINOIS GOES UP 17-0!

Katin Houser take a keeper around the outside for the score.

This team looks solid right now. #Illini

Through 21 minutes...

Total yards: #illini 203, MSU 8
Time of possession: Illini 17:23, MSU 3:40

TOUCHDOWN ILLINOIS! Houser ran it in himself after another nice drive! Go #Illini!

#illini dominating this first half. Most of this drive came on the ground with Katin Houser finishing it with a QB sneak on third down and sweep for the touchdown.

Illini OL mposed its will that drive. Statement start.
