NCAA Football Team Stats rankings for the #Hawkeyes through all of the past week's games: unsurprisingly the Offense is dropping like a rock in most categories and even the Defense took some hits after the loss to Ohio State...

‘If you’re going to beat a team like that, you’ve got to play clean’: Buckeyes too much for #Hawkeyes

Iowa drops to 4-1, 1-1. Next game is at Washington Friday night (8 PM CT). The #Hawkeyes should have a real shot at victory there - but injuries could factor. If UI wins in Seattle they would complete the "gauntlet" winning 2 out of 3 - and all things considered that would be pretty damn good.

FINAL: FADE TO BLACK
Ohio State 31 - Iowa 14

No last second heroics possible today for the #Hawkeyes. Didn't score a TD until 4Q 9:30. OSU dominates; Smith sensational. Hawks have injuries that could impact next Friday's game. UI's rush game was non-existent - again - big problem.

Final Stats...

Maybe Michigan isn't very good this year. My column: #Hawkeyes

And with Brown in the locker room we'll get a chance to see Hecklinski again. Even worse, Lutmer & Lee are both out/injured and apparently out for the game. All that bodes ill for the #Hawkeyes game at Washington next Friday.

3Q End: Ohio State 24 - Iowa 6

Terrible 3rd for the #Hawkeyes - all around. Brown having his worst game by far - his QB rating is a paltry 78.1, has fumbled and been picked. OSU's QB Sayin's rating is a whopping 222.7 and Smith is a highlight reel. Game is essentially out of hand.

Well GameDay, see ya back in Iowa City in 20 years. #hawkeyes #GameDay

2Q End: Ohio State 17 - Iowa 6

Last 2 mins were FUBAR for the #Hawkeyes - UI's drive stalls at midfield, then OSU slices through Iowa's D like a hot knife through butter. Worst case scenario for the Hawks to end the 1H. Buckeyes get the ball to start the 2H. Games not over but...

When you send this GIF to your father right before the doink #Hawkeyes

DOINK!!! Let's see if that miss plays big as this game goes along.
#Hawkeyes

Ohio State misses a 40-yard field goal attempt.

Big break for the #Hawkeyes and a big stop by the defense to rally after giving up the big play.

Also, I can't tell you how validating it was to go into a clickbait post on Facebook from a Florida fan page that got into my algorithm wondering whether some Gator tradition I've already forgotten was among the best traditions, only for every comment to be, "Nah, it's The Wave" #Hawkeyes

1Q End: Ohio State 10 - Iowa 6

After disaster struck less than 2 mins into the game (Brown strip-sack on Iowa's 14) - the #Hawkeyes settled down and we've a game at Kinnick. But UI can't keep settling for FGs and Brown can't keep holding onto the ball too long.

Soft #Hawkeyes

You kick that field goal Iowa, settling for 3 is surely gonna win you this game.
