This C15th town house was once an apothecary, then it was a pharmacy. Now it seems to be an occasional art gallery and holiday let. We don't have drugstores in the UK, and I've no idea why they didn't call it the 'Axbridge Apothecary'. 😊

Three windows for the price of one for #FensterFreitag today. The upper storey of some of the high street shops in the main commercial centre of Portsmouth, post-war build with a nod to earlier Art Deco style.

A view looking slightly upwards at the upper wall of a concrete building, part of a series of large shops in a commercial precinct of a city. The concrete might once have been white but it's grimy, streaked with rusty dirt in places around the features on it. At the bottom of the view there's a fixed glass and steel awning, tilted slightly back to the wall, providing some shelter for anyone below and allowing any rain to run back to guttering against the wall edge. The glass, as you'd expect, isn't the cleanest. The main focus is on three windows centred in the wall above. Each is a tall rectangular form with six panes in the lower section, a filled black central block that almost makes it look like a sash window open (but it's not), and more panes above. The central window is a larger version of the outer two, its width about 50% greater, and with two extra rows of panes of glass on the upper section, giving it eight panes in total there as opposed to the four that the other windows possess. There's a simple symmetry here and a fairly minimalist composition.
