DESCRIPTION: There are stories of encounters of a Cryptid that many have seen in West Virginia in the town of Point Pleasant, referred to as the ‘Mothman’. Described as a dark winged humanoid, that stands to about 6.5 to 7 feet tall, with a wingspan of nearly 10 feet. Some say the creature is brown or dark, has glowing red eyes, and can fly up to 100 miles per hour. Sightings have been reported by many. A young couple claimed to have seen the creature flying towards their car in ‘the TNT Area’, and some report of seeing the creature in a cemetery. However the famous known sighting of all, was on December 15th 1967, when the Silver Bridge suddenly collapsed, and some claim to have seen the Mothman flying overhead. Ever since then, sightings of the Mothman ceased. Some speculate the Mothman might’ve been an omen warning of disaster, some say that it was an extraterrestrial. But logical explanations might have been misidentifications involving large Herons, and Owls.

DESCRIPTION: West Virginia is known to have many encounters with strange Cryptids, but none is more stranger than the ‘Flatwoods Monster’. The Flatwoods Monster is a 10 ft tall humanoid being. Described as having a Blood Red face with an Ace of Spades shaped hood, glowing yellow eyes, a metallic green or black body, and sharp clawed fingers. It’s also said to float above the ground. The first sighting happened on September 12 1952 at 7.15 PM, when three children saw a glowing object in the sky, land near by. They went with their mother, accompanied by a National Guard, to investigate and the group said they smelt a ‘Pungent Mist’ in the air, and when the Guard aimed his flashlight at two glowing lights, they saw the creature. It let out a shrilling hiss, before lunging towards them, causing them to run in fear. Explanations of this encounter claim that there was a reported meteorite at the time, and the creature could’ve been a misidentification of a Barn Owl.
