I don't like to jump on people for not taking the "better" approach because if you don't know, you don't know. Lecturing someone on what to say just feels like that would discourage the person from interacting with you. #CPChatNow

It's a curious thing because I feel the better approach would just be asking the person which distance they are doing, rather than assuming one or another. I have that insight though, because of my experiences with a disability. #CPChatNow

I did use my cane for the first time at that race in-part because of how hilly the course is. #CPChatNow

One reason I asked is this past Sunday at the Run Through History 5k, as the course split for the 2-miler and 5k, one of the volunteers was like, "The two-miler is that way. Are you good with the 5k?" I just gave him a thumbs up, but it was like I've done this race nine times. #CPChatNow
