She sighs, saying she knows, but doesn't understand what Jessie's problem with her is. It's not like she's any threat to their marriage - she doesn't even like guys and wouldn't fuck her brother, and was found with a bottle of her own sperm, so it's not even like she'd ever make it awkward by asking for a donation! Aside from the new body, how much more forthright Wendy was than she'd been as John occasionally surprised Dave, suggesting his big brother had always been his sister but hadn't shared, the world being as it was. He hadn't gone on that Asian trip to get an operation in Thailand, but had been aboard a tourist boat that disappeared near Hong Kong. The family had mourned, until a year later, a secret iron lab was found with several women hooked up to respirators, all of whom were passengers whose brains had been transplanted. "Wendy" was quietly repatriated on the condition this be kept secret, so Dave & Jessie hired her on as the nanny, the least they could do after already selling her flat. She didn't mind - she adored her niblings, and it was a good way to start a new life in a familiar setting. And while today, she had mostly bought fancy Legos for when the kids are at school, she admitted she was trying to curry favor - they were growing fast enough to not need a live-in sitter much longer, and the former cool uncle wanted to be the cool aunt, even if they were no longer technically related!
