Besides, they probably don’t give a fuck about me anymore, so I should stop giving a fuck about them, too. Especially now that I’m home again. I don’t want to have to watch them building lives from a far, wishing I could laugh with them again. Wishing we could sit under the big oak in my yard, my head on Darius’ shoulder, legs across Jamie’s lap, talking about our futures. Wishing that we hadn’t got caught that time we were playing video games at their house.

At that last memory, a warmth blooms between my legs that shouldn’t be there. They’re brothers, it was a bad idea even when I had the excuse of adolescence. And yet, I’m squeezing my thighs together. The chagrin of my grandmother being right to target me as especially wayward mars my enjoyment of the sensation. But not enough to stop me.

I had only seen them as friends, and my tastes in men had been inappropriate for my younger age, but that didn’t mean I was oblivious. They had been cute, which was something I rarely thought about my peers at sixteen. And Darius looked just like his daddy. Fine ass, awful Mr. Shawn. Tall, broad and tan with a smile that used to put butterflies in my stomach.

The warmth between my thighs flares into a fire, burning right past the squeamishness of shame. Has Darius gotten taller and broader since I last saw him? I squirm, imagining Jamie’s nimble caramel hands and Darius’ full, dusty pink lips on the couch, but now full grown. Welp, no use trying to ignore this type of fantasy; trying to scare myself out of horniness hadn’t worked for years.

I have seen #TheReformatory recommended by a lot of horror book fans, and I gotta say, i'm only a third way in and it's addictive.
It's set in 1950s America era during the #segregation, written by a Black woman, & the creep factor gives a feel of #TheShining.
So far, so good!
