I like to think the #BattleTech universe is full of weird things like this- just crazy relics made by people killed in the 1st or 2nd SW, leaving their ancestors no clue to what it is or why it was made.

Meant as the next big thing, Linebacker failed to replace the Mad Cat. But years later it stopped being judged for its origins, and started being seen for what it could do.
Stop comparing yourself to those who came before. Find a way as yourself.

It's been very slow going but I've got the black trim done and drybrushed on my Jade Falcons! I'll be using a light brass color for all the metallics as it plays off the greens really nice. #battletech

For elite house commands, I offer House Kurita's Ryuken regiments. Trained by and blooded on the Wolf's Dragoons, the Ryuken is meant to replicate the warfighting capabilities of that elite mercenary command.

Day Nine of #mechtober #battletech and Elite House Regiments pointedly excludes any Com Guard Divisions, my tastes tend to more middle of the road and quirky/interesting units like the Atrean Hussars or Chisholm's Raiders. So lets go cliche and twice future Precentor Martial helmed 10th Lyran Guards

10/9 - Elite House Commands!
One of the 1st BT novels I read, B-plot covers the formation of a revenge kill-squad, state-sponsored for a disgraced noble dressed as honorable redemption, who later become a legendary spec ops group: the Genyosha! 🤣I love Kurita (art: Camospecs)

Elite House Commands are fun, as they are usually the most dedicated. I really love the Capellan Death Commandos as they are relentless, never retreat, and strike fear in the hearts of even the most stalwart MechWarrior.

#Mechtober day 9 is elite House commands! Be it one of the Davion Heavy Guards units, Capellan Death Commandos, House Steiner's Lyran Guards, Draconis Combine Sword of Light or the Big MAC from House Liao, they're all storied commands in #Battletech lore #Miniaturepainting
Today's #mechtober is Warrior House Dài Dá Chì. Recently, Xiào-Zhǎng Dietrich Löwe's 1st Battalion held off Alaric Ward's Golden Keshik at Ramey's Point, sacrificing themselves and battering the Wolves to allow DDC and the 3rd and 4th Chargers to escape.
I went back and forth on Myoto's Grand Dragon. There is no canon scheme listed, so I went with gray & gave her subtle details (number, cockpit & laser colors) to set her apart, but still fit

Mechtober 9/31 - Shadow Cat
Early morning Battletech posting, heres an Ontos tank I tried my hand at, using some House Davion-ish colors. The yellow did not work out in the slightest 🫠 It'll look okay on the tabletop tho.

No one will ever suspect this master plan!

Here's a Vulture Mk IV Prime, a 60-ton Clan OmniMech from the BattleTech: Core Box, painted in the colors of the 18th Provisional Garrison Cluster, Rasalhague Dominion.

I haven't posted any miniatures painting in a while but today's #Mechtober is Wolf's Dragoons, so here are a trio of Dragoon Marauder IIs I painted a couple of weeks ago.
First (real) sortie of Aces Scouring Sands!
We decided to come out swinging and assault the Jade Falcons - despite bad luck on our waypoint reveals and losing my Grasshopper (failed the salvage roll by 1!) we took out most of the enemies and earned enough profit to buy a Night Gyr.
Finished up Archer, only 2 mechs to go!

Who's that Crockett variant? It's.... CRK-5003-1b!
Eventually I want to make one for every Gunslinger related mech, but I'm particularly proud of this one, as it's based on a physical conversion I actually made. The more canon compliant version would be a CRK-5003-1...
